I am delighted to offer this fantastic Authentic Russian orthodox icon depicting the 3 saints John Basili Gregory, painted onto a panel of wood, originally from Northern Russia Arkhangelsk region, Confirmed by an expert colleague on Russian cultural values that this piece was created in the late 1890s to early 1900s before the Russian revolution of 1917, hand painted icon on wood with oils.

The icon is mounted inside a wooden frame with a sliding panel back with an internal frame also, the outer frame is old and i would say original to the icon, the inner frame looks like a later addition.
In excellent condition for its age only minor nicks here and there, and a little chunk out of the back panel at the top ( can not be seen when mounted) and would make a fabulous addition to any collection.
