Description
If you want to buy something original and unique, here is a small glazed earthenware board or plate for snacks, completely handmade by the artist L.Nedelec, produced at the Quimper factory.
"One of the peculiarities of Brittany costumes is the richness of the colours of the embroidery or traditional motifs that decorate them. The faience masters of Quimper did not remain indifferent to this phenomenon and made extensive use of this almost inexhaustible resource to decorate their products. Since 1918, the HB Quimper factory has been creating the "embroidery" decor - a new technique that allows you to rediscover the concept of relief, emphasizing the richness of the embroiderers' creativity. The workshop of Pierre Poquet is an example of this. Thus, the heads of the workshops, who have the right to create, give birth to numerous decorations, especially varied, mainly including Bigouden motifs, as well as floral elements of Fouesnant's costume."
This board or plate in yellow-brown tones by the artist L.Nedelec is a striking example of this style.
The board has a string for hanging, on the opposite side there are also holes for hanging.
No chips or cracks, excellent vintage preservation.
Dimensions approx
Width at widest point 23 cm 9.05 inches
Width at narrowest point 14 cm 5.51 inches
Height 19 cm 7.48 inches
Depth 1.4 cm 0.39 inches
The board can become part of the decor of any room, if it is hung on the wall, it can be used for serving, or it can even become part of a collectible.
