A charming antique silver-plated coffee pot / teapot /hot water jug in Art Nouveau style manufactured by the famous company Christofle, France, early 20th century is looking for a loving new owner.
The vessel is decorated with beautiful curved lines, applied leaf-shaped details and an unusual and graceful spout in the shape of a bird's (penguin) beak.
The item is polished to a beautiful shine, but you can make it even shinier.
On the bottom of the coffee pot is the inscription Christofle, an oval scale sign in a square, the numbers 4 and 1 in squares and a seven-digit number, indicating that the item was made in the period 1865-1933.
The teapot/coffee pot is in very good condition for its age, but there are signs of use in the form of small scratches and partial disappearance of the silver layer. No dents!
And this is still a real Christofle with its beautiful forms, which gives us a feeling of belonging, if not to the Downton Abbey family, then to antiques and to the art of silverware.
