Sourced in France from the Limousin area a lovely piece of folk art in ironware depicting an old smiling country girl carrying a large bundle of sticks for the fire, clutching a small chopping axe .
I love this piece as the detail is so good i can really feel for her struggling along while smiling, but she will get there in the end.
Its difficult to date this piece as there are no makers marks or dates anywhere but I would imagine it was made around the late 70`s, there are a few scrapes and nicks in certain area`s but this only adds to the character of this piece I really like it.
