French Antique Napoleon III epoque era Brass and Bronze plafonnier ceiling light early 20th century patinated with a closed opaline shade
A large heavily decorated cast ceiling rose which can be fixed to the ceiling by means of a hook leads to 3 decorated dainty scrolled supports that are fixed to the brass central column which then supports the opaline closed tulip style shade which is held in by 3 screws.

There is a patina of time on most of the fitting which I like but it may polish if you prefer that look, the opaline shade also has some small nibbles to the top of it where it screws into the shade support this is due to someone in the distant past probably over tightening the screws, they need to grip the shade but not overtight, luckily this will not affect the overall look of this fantastic treasure, as the lip of the shade where the damage is is hidden when screwed in place, but I prefer to mention so no nasty suprises when it arrives with you, there is also a photo of this to see.
Apart from that the electrics will probably need changing although its shown lit up the wiring is only 2 core cable with no earth but should be pretty easy to replace.
The bulb fitting at the moment is a standard bayonet bulb fitting.
It is also possible to mount this on a pedestal the wrong way up and use it as a very elaborate table lamp, I did try this and I liked the look very much, just an idea!
