I present to your attention an old pair of children's leather ankle boots of burgundy color with a wooden sole, antique school shoes, France, first half of the 20th century. These old shoes were part of the school uniform in fairly wealthy families, mainly urban, who could afford to buy leather shoes as opposed to wooden clogs in rural areas. The wooden sole is lined with leather heels with small nails to prevent slipping on ice, the shoes have a flannel lining to keep children's feet warm. The shoes were very solid, the sole is attached to the leather upper with several seams. The shoes were used, perhaps more than one pair of children's feet, so they accordingly have traces of use. There are scratches on the leather, traces of wear are also visible on the wooden sole. However, it is a wonderful prop for filming, theater productions, an arts and crafts museum, restaurant decoration, a children's clothing store, or just farmhouse decor.
